In order to create the Loopring Smart Wallet, users are asked to enter a passcode; this passcode along with the ability to access the private key is Loopring Auth. The Loopring Smart Wallet will be accessible with a passcode or biometric authentication associated with this, and Loopring Auth will be one of the mandatory verification sources during 2FA if it is available (unless you have not set the passcode or have lost access to your private key).
During the initial wallet setup, users may already have added their mobile phone number as part of the registration process to create the Loopring Smart Wallet and set up the Official Loopring Guardian. If the user instead chose to enter an email address, they may now add their mobile phone number to receive an SMS message to verify their identity. SMS authentication adds another layer of security to a user's withdrawals and Loopring account. If two-factor authentication is already enabled you’ll need to verify before adding SMS.

An authenticator app generates a six-digit one-time passcode that changes every 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, anyone who successfully gets the one-time password will not be able to use it. The codes are generated using special algorithms which must meet standard industry practices. This makes it possible to mix and match different authenticator app, for instance, using Microsoft Authenticator with Google Accounts or vice-versa. The Loopring Smart Wallet also supports any of the popular authenticator apps.
Scan the QR code or manually setup the Authenticator app to the Loopring Smart Wallet then enter your verification code.
Take a note of the Key so that if you ever lost your authenticator you can restore the app into your authenticator.
