Transferring Assets from Your Loopring Wallet

As you prepare to transfer assets out of your Loopring Wallet, please keep the following in mind. This list will be updated over time as more guidance becomes available.

Using Loopring L2 with Compatible Wallets

Before transferring assets via Loopring L2, it's important to ensure the receiving wallet is supported.

  1. Visit https://loopring.io/#/pro and connect the wallet you intend to receive assets with.

  2. Attempt to activate the Loopring L2 account.

    • If activation is successful, the wallet is supported and safe to use.

    • If the dApp shows an error, do not send assets to that address.

Recommended wallets include (but are not limited to): MetaMask, OKX, Rabby, Rainbow, and Family.

Special Note for Coinbase Wallet Users

Some Coinbase wallets are smart contract wallets rather than externally owned accounts (EOAs). Since Loopring L2 can only be activated with EOAs, these Coinbase wallets may not be compatible.

  • If you’re unsure whether your Coinbase Wallet is an EOA, we strongly recommend not proceeding with it.

Transferring Tokens to an Exchange

Some exchanges either do not accept transfer from smart contract wallets or they may ask for proof of ownership if the transferred amount exceeds a certain value (i.e., $1,000).

  • If you’re planning to transfer assets from Loopring L2 to an exchange, we recommend first sending them to an EOA (externally owned account) wallet via Loopring L2 (which has low transfer fees), and then forwarding them to the exchange using the Send from L2 to Another Ethereum L1 Account (incl. Exchange) option.

Bridging Assets to Other Networks

Some bridges do not function well with smart contract wallets like Loopring Wallet.

  • If you're planning to bridge assets from Loopring L2 to another network using a third-party bridge, we recommend first sending them to an EOA (externally owned account) wallet, then using the bridge from there.

Transferring Assets over Taiko Alethia

If you're transferring assets on Taiko Alethia to an EOA wallet:

  • You’ll likely need to add the Taiko Alethia network manually if it's not already available by default.

  • You can find the necessary details at https://chainlist.org/chain/167000 to add it as a custom network.

Taiko Alethia Network Details

  • Once added, your Taiko Alethia assets should be visible in the EOA wallet.

    • If your TAIKO token isn't showing, you may need to manually import the token using its contract address : 0xA9d23408b9bA935c230493c40C73824Df71A0975
